Post Contact Announcement - General Progress Update


Hello all,

Post Contact is my first project I have ever undertaken on Unreal Engine 4. I am still a very new Game Dev and some things are much harder than others for me. I also learned that my game is very far away from being complete, saying it is in alpha is an exaggeration. The game needs many many updates and improvements to achieve that status.

Lately, I've been struggling to make this game make sense. The story line, the plot and the gameplay. I've had an idea in my mind but then some things have changed and other ideas have come into my head. As of right now I am working on a loot and shoot game more where you spawn in and can upgrade your weapon as you go, loot minerals and resources as you kill the planets inhabitants, as you try to reach your Ejection Point which is where you are launched back into orbit to meet your ship. 

I am still aiming for high weapon customization and satisfying gameplay. Animations are new to me so it is taking some time to achieve satisfying results. I have reverted to using just an arms mesh to decrease the time it takes to make an animation and hopefully increase the quality of the resulting animations. AI heavily needs some work to make them not as dumb as a stick in the mud.

I'm hoping to make this a great PvE game with progression and unlockables. I am looking forward to seeing then progress I make and the people who try it out and provide feedback a long the way.
